The ChargingDiscoverySystem (CDS) emulates as a central element the charging communication of EV or EVSE. At the same time, the electrical paramete are measured and checked for compliance with the standards. The CDS also assumes synchronized triggering of additional power sources and sinks. All components are developed and manufactured by Scienlab. Customer-specifi c requirements or modifi catio required by the standards can therefore be realized at short notice.

This application note also discusses the theory of block commutation for a BLDC motor and the method by which the back electromotive force (BEMF) is detected for this type of motor control. The BEMF can be detected by using either a three-channel ADC module or three comparato to monitor each phase for the BEMF zero crossing. This application note addresses the implementation of both methods for BEMF detection. For convenience and ease of implementation, a BLDC-type 24 V/30 W motor capable of running up to 3200 RPM is included in the demotration kit.

For this reason, utilities cost are a key factor in determining the Total Cost of Ownehip of a HALT\HASS system, and should be carefully compared prior to purchasing a HALT\HASS System. However, comparing utility coumption and costs are not easy. Different make of systems use different methods of specifying utility coumption; some firms reportedly don’t even accurately measure coumption but rather provide simple estimates without substantiating data. The purpose of this document is to define a method for accurately and coistently measuring utility coumption of HALT\HASS chamber systems.
